This app will COMPLETELY waste your time. Like most crypto platforms, CoinJar requires a LOT of highly sensitive information about yourself as part of identity verification (KYC) during onboarding if you plan to use advertised features such as their prepaid Mastercard, token swaps, bank transfers, or even simply RECEIVING crypto... but in 30 US states, successfully verifying your identity isn't even an option. They won't tell you that until AFTER you try, though.\n\nIf you don't live in one of the 20 states they actually support, CoinJar will wait until AFTER onboarding to inform you that identity verification isn't even available in your state. They'll happily collect all your data, and reward you for it by disabling nearly all the features in their app.\n\nIt's a HUGE red flag that CoinJar rolled out a highly incomplete identity verification platform in the US, as opposed to every other platform I've used that supports US citizens... not to mention that they only inform you of this AFTER you provide tons of personally identifiable information. It's unacceptable for a crypto exchange to pull this in 2026; complete amateur hour.\n\nDevelopers, you should fully expect a steady stream of abysmal reviews for harvesting data from new users like this.
