I called this out during beta, but it went unheeded. The check in button should be in the middle bottom, not the side. Middle bottom makes it ambidextrous and allows anyone to check in with one hand, while leaving the other hand free for all the things we carry in our daily lives. We shouldn’t have to use 2 hands, one to hold the phone, and the other to check in. I have two huge problems though and they have persisted for years and I have emailed and tweeted support multiple times and they either ignore me or tell me they are “working on it.” Well, they’ve been “working on it” for years now and nothing has changed.\nFirst, the app is hit-or-miss in whether it recognizes an event is taking place at the location of your check in. For example, checking in at a music venue and it doesn’t recognize a concert is taking place, or at an arena and it doesn’t recognize the pro sporting event that’s happening. This has gotten worse the last few years and it only recognizes maybe 60% of the events I’m attending. And these are huge events with anywhere from 1K-20k people. \nSecondly, if you have the app linked to twitter, it tweets your check-in, then ruins it by sticking an ad in the tweet with a pic of their logo and link to the Swarm website. It makes your timeline ugly as hell and you can’t change it.\nI wish to hell there was a different app I could use for check ins but unfortunately Swarm is the only one, so I’m stuck. This was a Friday. Today is Sunday. I noticed Saturday it didn’t take. I have been trying since yesterday to scan the pic. It will not work. I don’t know what the issue is. I don’t know how to contact Support because its just an articles page. Check-in missed. First check-in miss in 10+ years where the app missed it. I’ve missed check-ins by forgetting in the past. But the app never missed. Especially since the introduction to missed check-ins. I’m annoyed because it was a dope event that others who I’ve invited to use the app checked into the event. No issues. Maybe it was the fact so many people attended the event. Might’ve confused the app. I don’t know. But the scan pic not working is new to me or new for me.
