I managed to stick to saving the receipts, but as they kept piling up, I kept putting off recording them. I finally decided to look into ways of recoding the hundreds of receipts I had without making me want to jump off a bridge. I read a bunch of reviews and Foreceipt was the first app I tried. \n\nI’ve already entered tons of receipts a lot more quickly than I thought I’d be able to. The OCR isn’t 100% accurate, but no OCR will be until AI really gets moving. It’s still very accurate, the ease with which the app lets me update the things it doesn’t get perfectly, and all the extra filtering, sorting, budgeting, customization, cloud storage, and bulk editing features (when using the web version) makes this a five-star app in my book.\n\nTheir support seems to be great so far too. But that has really been a chore,  especially after they rewrote the software, stripping many needed features.  No iOS version is planned so I decided to look elsewhere as I need portability. I evaluated many different apps (Quickbooks Mobile , Expensify, etc) and decided on Foreceipt. It’s not perfect, (OCR needs work) but my workflow to track receipts is greatly simplified.  I especially like receipts emailed to a special Foreceipt email address ( I purchase a lot from Lowe’s and Home Depot) are easily processed.  Auto cropping paper receipts removes a lot of the guesswork when processing receipts. I get a great running total of my expenses and the PDF and Excel spreadsheet features work great. Data is stored on Amazon’s servers but I still keep my paper copies. \nSupport during my evaluation period, 3 weeks, was good but there were times when answers to questions concerning program operations took a few days. But support for when data hiccups occurred (twice) was very prompt and quickly addressed with no data loss. \nThe trial period is very generous, allowing premium features so you can really get a feel of how useful this app can be.
