I have never caught one by choice because of I was concerned regarding P licenses and wanting to support local taxi companies.\n\nEnter Zoomy, which solves those keys issues and also happened to have nice vehicles that arrived relatively quickly. Great to hear that they treat their drivers better too. Certainly worth using for personal trips in future.","version":"","date":"2018-07-28T00:00:00Z","rating":5,"app_id":576171915,"username":"Nixxnz","title":"Local, nice car and great service","country":"NZ","tags":["sound_and_music"],"review_id":2980854959},{"content":"- Drivers are rarely available, resulting in long search times to connect to a driver. Invariably this results in canceling your search after several fruitless minutes and using a competitor’s app, which does what it says on the tin in that you can actually get a ride shortly after you call it.\n\n- Still sends out a driver despite canceling you canceling your search and physically ending the app in your phone’s multitasking menu. Get charged $10 cancellation fee. This gets refunded after a long and detailed email to customer support, their reply passes the buck back on to you for not properly engaging with the app (atrocious customer service).\n\n- Daily push notifications advising you to choose Zoomy and support local (in addition to emails stating the same). Shocked that you can’t turn these off within the app. Have to email customer support to manually turn these off. 2 weeks later? Notifications are back with a vengeance.\n\nZoomy have somehow done the impossible - they have been given the opportunity to claw back market share on a silver platter, as the country grapples with a global pandemic and encourages the population to spend locally at a level that has never been seen before, and won’t be ever again. Yet somehow, Zoomy have made their passenger experience through the app and customer service, one that actively encourages you to use their foreign-owned competitors, which is exactly what I’ll be doing. A real shame for what should’ve been a great homegrown kiwi tech story.","version":"","date":"2020-06-30T00:00:00Z","rating":1,"app_id":576171915,"username":"GuyRichardson24","title":"Zoomy make it impossible to support local","country":"NZ","tags":["service","accessibility","game_progression","notifications","monetization"],"review_id":6141752687},{"content":"Used ZOOMY for the first time over the weekend… first driver accepted our booking but dropped a non-paying person off first, driving passed our location and making us wait on the curb for 20 minutes (5 min estimate at time of booking). No apology either. Ordered three other rides later the same day, two drivers called after accepting booking but wanted us to cancel because they ‘asked’ and didn’t like where our destination was (it was Onehunga).
