For a few reasons. For instance, sometimes even if I birdie 5 of 6 holes in a tournament I can still lose because an AI eagles and hole in ones the last two holes (which has happened numerous times) out of nowhere. I love that this game is challenging but sometimes it’s a bit ridiculous. My only other issue and the reason I’m even writing a review is because I grinded and played a great round to just pull off a 1st place at sunset valley which is a tough course and costs 15 tickets to play. Following my win I clicked “OPEN CHEST” only for me to receive ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I’m not sure if this is a glitch or what but I am fuming over it. To sum everything up this is a great game and I’ve recommended it to all my friends and I will definitely continue to play. I just hope the issues I mentioned are addressed. P.S, I’ve never written a review before but this game deserves one and 5 stars because you’ve finally given me a good golf game to play on my phone. It&#39;s not as explicit as just buying better equipment but it&#39;s still p2w tacked onto an annoying grind.\nGameplay wise, it&#39;s swipe style swing and would easily be the best single player golf game if earning better clubs wasn&#39;t extremely annoying and largely bypassed with money. It&#39;s not really a good or fun grind for better clubs or even for more courses when you do put in the time. Since the field scales, you pretty quickly have to shoot -5 or -6 every single round, even in the low course unlocks.\nTo earn more clubs, you must first earn tickets by winning tournaments. Then, you buy an entry into a tournament that has randomized loot box prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Only by placing in those spots do you get relevant tiered chest rewards. It&#39;s common to place 3rd or sometimes 4th while shooting -5 in these tournaments, so it&#39;s pretty common to spend 30-40 minutes of time grinding the same 5 holes over and over to just not make any progress. I thought the $9 was steep but worth it so my kids didn’t have to watch ads and could just play. I also thought I’d get more for $9. But even after paying, the app still finds ways to charge more! I paid to have the opportunity to pay even more for more parts of the game. There is still gold required that you pay real money for to unlock more in the game, and there’s a pass you pay for to unlock even more. Want another chance at a challenge? pay. Want to keep your streak? Pay. It’s like a glorified freemium game, and I feel like a real sucker for paying $9 when I thought I’d have access to way more. A $2 no ads option is more appropriate for the amount that’s still behind a pay wall or grind. The base, single player game is definitely not worth $9 for no ads. Each course is great, but there’s only 6 holes, and you really have to grind them to unlock tickets, which open up tournaments, where you have to place top 3 to get a chest. And if you want a good chest, you need to grind for the tickets, then play 3 rounds in hopes you get to 3. 6 holes, over, and over, and over, and over, and over….Come on, at least give us 9 and work to get 18! Not worth $9 atm.
