Browser version is extremely easy to utilize and usually helps to save a couple bucks here and there. Only gripe is that there could be better app accessibility. Honey unfortunately can’t be used properly on the phone even with the app. While this isn’t a big issue at all it would help for accessibility in streamlining the app as a lot of online shopping is mobile based. Later, when actually using Safari, I noted that there was a multi-second delay before loading a site, link, or reloading a site. Also, when I tried to swipe to scroll, it would mostly just not respond, or would sometimes start responding after 2-3 seconds. This happens on every screen of every web site. I initially tried closing Safari and reloading, resetting the phone, etc. nothing made a difference.  I later remembered that I had attached Honey, and disabled it. The problem was instantly solved. Disabling Honey fixed the problem, so I began to look for correctable issues with Honey. There was an update (2.2.2) in the App Store that reported that it improved performance in iOS Safari. Perfect! Sounded like what I needed. However, after installing the update and closing/reloading Safari, the old crippling problem was back. I turned Honey off again, and performance again became crisp. I’m sure this is a bug that they can address, but for now, using Honey cripples my iPhone. I used it so much for my business purchases I had accrued over 50 dollars worth of pending points. One day I noticed some of my purchases weren’t being credited to my account and when I was told my cash back wasn’t activated for certain purchases I started taking screenshots in case it happened again. Of course it happened again and I sent in an inquiry expressing my concern. A few days later after no response all my points were gone from my account and I couldn’t get anyone to help me. Takes me weeks after I file a complaint with the BBB to finally get some sort of response and they claim “after reviewing our risk management that we can no longer service you for fear of high risk”. For background I work in the banking industry and found this absolutely ludicrous. I told them I can prove I’m not fraud whatever that means and that I buy all my stuff online for my shop and use honey to get cash back. Also I said this seems more like a retaliation tactic since I brought up a concern they were not crediting my account correctly. Also also any of the vendors I buy from that is their responsibility not mine to make sure vendors are compliant and accurately reporting not mine so I’m not sure what they are getting at with the whole “high risk” more like they don’t want to dish out my cash and keep it for themselves. I feel so scammed by honey and PayPal that I felt the need to tell others to whom I previously praised the service to. It doesn’t seem right to me that a company can just claim “we think your fraud so we don’t have to pay you” without any way to prove otherwise. Again I understand if people are doing fishy transactions ( I work in banking and know all about fraud prevention) but I literally was just buying a lot of stuff for my side hustle which is what I thought was the whole goal of Honey.
