Now they do, and it won’t validate US numbers only numbers in the EU. So do this if you have E-Sim service on your phone. Purchase 2 E-Sims from Airalo, the Finland one and the basic one called ‘discover’. The discover E-sim covers all of EU SMS only no internet but it gives you a phone number from a random EU country that will work to verify your account. Add your CC and buy a one day ticket everyday for all Zones if you will be travelling around. To use the app- for the bus if you get on in the front, and just show the driver your ticket through the app without saying anything. You can buy a ticket for others too, in that case just scroll. Everything else- just get on and sit and show the ticket if the ticket inspector comes around. Remember- if you’re alone at a stop or no one else seems to be getting on, you need to hold your arm out for them to stop or else they will not. Also only use google maps! First the website blocks international IPs (even if you have an EU phone number). Next it blocks you from using a non-Scandinavian payment method DESPITE saying that you can (the different card service icons in the payment section). After that, if you pay for a city bike (between 1-4 bikes in case you want to pay for a friend in a situation like this) you CANNOT buy additional bikes AFTER. You have to wait the duration you paid for (month, week, day) to finish BEFORE trying again for the correct number of bikes. My friend called customer service and they said “yeah that’s how the system works, you can’t change it once you pay it.” That IS NOT a reason, that is a shortcoming- a FAILURE of the app. How is it that the developers failed to see that this could be a potential issue? FINALLY, if you want to delete your account, you have to give them your account info (not an issue) but then you need to give them PAY CREDENTIALS- information that the service did NOT accept in the first place and EACH of the pay options are from Scandinavian banks ONLY. If customer service cannot overwrite these issues, their jobs are a waste of money.
