Other apps at least link to their mobile site. Worse, the app stops working if you don't use it for a few days. The last couple trips I have had on AA I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to check in and get my boarding pass, even on separate legs of the same trip. I use a different system for booking my flights, but my check in, boarding passes, and flight/ gate status are done with the app. Highly recommend it to anyone that flies American regularly.
